If you are a fan of arcade games, both vintage and new, you NEED to check out Pinballz. An arcade targeted towards an older demographic.
Pros: Inexpensive gameplay, great drink selection, vintage games
Cons: Sometimes your favorite game is under repair.
Easily one of the best bars in the Domain.
Pros: Plenty of vintage arcade games and drink selections.
Cons: It can get a little too crowded to get a drink on Saturday nights.
Even though this restaurant is in the middle of a tourist destination it definitely isnt tourist food. One of the best Tex Mex restaurants in Austin by far.
Pros: Great food and even better drinks.
Cons: As with any business on south congress, there's not a lot of parking.
Easily my favorite BBQ restaurant in Austin. The atmosphere and service are top notch and the brisket and sausage are amazing.
Pros: Great food that's always fresh.
Cons: There can be long waits and lack of parking.
Great spot for Mexican style BBQ. If you've never had this style of BBQ it is a little different than traditional Texas BBq but delicious none the less.
Pros: Great flavor and always fresh.
Cons: Usually, you will have to wait in a long line.
This bar is right next to my place and for my money is the best bar in the area. They offer up unique drinks that are not found in just any old bar.
Pros: Great drinks and an awesome food truck parked in the back.
Cons: A little pricey but worth it
Easily one of the best breakfast spots in Austin. If you like pancakes this is the spot for you. Prices are reasonable and food is well above average.
Pros: Breakfast all day. Never Closes
Cons: Service can be inconsistent. Parking can be hard to find.
This is easily one of the best venues in Austin to see live music. The acoustics are great and there are no bad seats. The venue is big enough for fairly popular artists, but not too big.
Pros: Great acoustics, cheap drinks, outdoor smoking patio.
Cons: Standing only
This has been a go-to spot for drink specials and sports for many years now. It's hard to pass up the $2 margaritas on Thursdays.
Pros: Great drink prices and bar food.
Cons: Service is not consistent.
