Hot Rods and Hatters was originally founded at Manny Gammage's Texas Hatters Inc. By Joel Aaron Gammage with the efforts of family and friends on February 7th, 2011. The first year featured Rockabilly Legend Rick Broussard of Two Hoots and A Holler who performed in the backyard of the Hat Shop.

The event brought 99 Registrants with over 500 fans that made the trip from Austin, Texas and some even as far as Oklahoma to participate in the event.

Since then the event has brought thousand more fans. Which lead to our second year Feb4th, 2012, transition to Cedar Hall located just one mile outside the city limits of Lockhart, Texas. That year featured 125 registrants with over 2,500 fans in attendance far exceeding our expectations.
At the end of the 2nd year event Mayor Lew White approached us about making yet another move. Which at the time had been proposed for The City Park.

However, After reactions from small local businesses comments and requests for our event to make the instead of to The City Park, asked instead that we consider bring it to the downtown where the impact would be much better suit not only for local businesses but the local residents of Lockhart.

So in 2013 with a full year of planning behind it and plenty of local support we held our 3rd Annual Hot Rods and Hatters Car Show. Not knowing what
