Zeds Restaurant

Permanently Closed.. Zed's Restaurant was envisioned by a innovative commercial developer from Florida who created the name ‘Tech Ridge' and developed the adjacent HEB shopping center. His father, who was Canadian, previously worked in the Pacific Rim and headquartered a manufacturing plant in Queenstown, New Zealand. This, along with the fact that in Europe and the Pacific "Zed” is a common first name as well as the way the letter "Z” is pronounced, gave much of the influence to the present day Zed's.

At Zed's you will find us steeped in the homegrown featuring locally brewed beers, Austin Hill Country wines, and fresh, seasonal vegetables. We model ourselves from an establishment in Auckland, and know you will enjoy our presentation of quality meats and seafood served to perfection!

Zed's is an everyday celebration of Austin's vibrant culture, from its menu and casually sophisticated vibe to live music offerings. Celebrated local architect Michael Hsu designed the airy yet warm space that integrates the clean lines of the restaurant with the existing hillside landscape. A major focus of the dining backdrop is the creation of a unique east-facing deck built to take advantage of summer breezes with large overhangs, Big Ass Fans (the acclaimed manufacturer) and comfortable furnishings. Heaters in winter ensure that the spacious, scenic deck is functional virtually year-round.
