Permanently Closed.. The name "Viejo's" is inspired by a history of hard work, ingenuity, and a passion to make the most out of everything our family strives to accomplish. My grandfather, Jose Oviedo C. or "Viejo", as his beloved wife addressed him, was born in May of 1926 in Southwest Texas. He was a model of perseverance and believed that consistent work ethic was the only way to survive in this dog-eat-dog world. Coming out of poverty in his childhood days and establishing a successful roofing company during his adult life, he was given the security and capability to support and raise his family of 9. Against all odds, especially during this time in history, his name was soon spread throughout the city of Del Rio as he would become known for contributions to his community and others.
Family reunions consisted of large gatherings coming together over huge home-cooked meals, as they still do today. Our love for a variety of foods and flavors has always been shared throughout and you could practically taste the passion in every bite!

Our mission is to bring the passion, perseverance, and integrity that Viejo himself instilled in us all, as well as let the citizens of Bastrop and surrounding areas experience it in more than one way. A combination of fresh and exciting flavors are sure to wake up even the laziest of taste buds!
