Valdez is vying for the Democratic nomination for governor in 2018 after resigning her post as Dallas County sheriff. Prior to her three terms as sheriff, Valdez had over three decades of experience in law enforcement, including work in homeland security and anti-terrorism investigations.

This event will be held in the Capital Factory Voltron Space, located on the first floor of the Omni Hotel. It is free and open to the public. Coffee and networking begin at 7:30 a.m., followed by the interview at 8 a.m.
