Austin is known worldwide for its amazing and bountiful live music scene. Many even deem it the live music capital of the world. If you're involved, as a singer or part of a vocal group in Austin, you probably know this though.
What you might not know is that you can get the chance to flaunt those skills and get a shot at some serious national exposure when the X Factor rolls through Austin for their season 2 auditions on Thursday, March 22.
The auditions will take place at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas and is open to all singers and singing groups ages 12 and over.
To get in on the audition action, there are a few things you need to do. First, sign up on the X-Factor audition registration page under the Austin date. Then, head to the Frank Erwin Center during normal business hours on March 21 or 22 to register for your spot and get your wristband for the actual audition on March 22. You can still register on the morning of March 22 but you'll be one of the last in line, essentially, and have no guarantee that you'll actually be able to perform for the judges.
Anyone looking to audition must be 12 or over (adult supervision required for those 17 and under) and have two forms of picture ID with proof of age.
If you can't make it out to the Austin X Factor auditions, don't worry too much. The X Factor is also accepting video submissions for the auditions. Just head to auditions.thexfactorusa.com and follow the simple instructions.
Other than that, just get out there, strut your stuff, and have some fun at the X Factor Austin auditions. Good luck!
