Theme gardens such as rose, herb and Japanese garden are interconnected with streams, waterfalls and Koi-filled ponds. The Hartman Prehistoric Garden recreates local dinosaur habitat. This garden is a unique collaboration between The City of Austin Parks & Recreation Department (PARD) and the Austin Area Garden Council (AAGC). The garden is open to the public most days year-round and is enjoyed by over 400,000 visitors each year, including thousands of school children from Austin and the surrounding communities. From our annual spring garden festival - Zilker Garden Festival, to AAGC garden club workshops and plant sales throughout the year, to docent-led tours, we offer our visitors countless ways to enjoy Zilker Botanical Garden. ZBG is pet friendly! Please keep pets on a leash and bring your own bags for messes.
