Description
Permanently Closed.. Originally built by merchant Charles Wolf in 1874 it is designated as a Historical Landmark by the City of Austin. Wolf hired architect R.A. Hancock to design the building with facades on the front and back. As the Austin Cotton Exchange, the cotton bales were on the main floor and the offices for brokers and buyers were on the second floor. It was later used as a market for produce, dry goods, groceries and clothing. Today, it's home to us, Old School Bar & Grill!
Our Story..
In an effort to preserve a piece of Austin's musical heritage, we salvaged the dance floor of the famous Armadillo World Headquarters. The floor has seen the likes of Willie Nelson, Frank Zappa, Janis Joplin, & ZZ Top. The original owners had it fabricated into the east wall of the 6th & Trinity Location.
Today, Old School is home to the best food on 6th St (Sixth St) in Austin, TX. So stop in for food on 6th Street in Austin, TX. and have a beer, a burger and a piece of Austin's music history. Old School. Get Some.
